Code Example

ollama launch openclaw

I work at a corporation and they are not a fan of openclaw. It sets of our IDS and people start asking questions. Can we add a setting that can be configured to filter unallowed extensions? I was thinking even something like a configuration environment variable that could be set when its installed so people dont try to accidentally

ollama launch openclaw

that would be enough to make our compliance people happy and I could use local models. Thank you for your consideration. I can do the work myself I just want to know if it would be accepted and best way to implement.

extent analysis

TL;DR

Adding a configurable setting to filter unallowed extensions, such as through an environment variable, could address the compliance concerns.

Guidance

  • Consider introducing an environment variable, e.g., ALLOWED_EXTENSIONS, that can be set during installation to specify permitted extensions.
  • Consider adding a configuration option to ollama launch to accept a whitelist of allowed extensions.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of implementing a default deny-all policy for extensions, requiring explicit opt-in for allowed extensions.
  • Discuss with the development team to determine the best approach for implementing this feature.

Example

No code snippet is provided due to lack of specific technical details.

Notes

The proposed solution assumes that the primary concern is preventing accidental launches of unapproved extensions. However, the exact requirements and constraints of the corporation's compliance policies are not specified.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Introduce a configurable setting to filter unallowed extensions, as this approach addresses the compliance concerns while allowing for flexibility in implementation.
