Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing requests and this feature hasn't been requested yet
  • This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

The current theme options (light/dark) don't accommodate personal preferences or accessibility needs (e.g., reduced eye strain with specific background tones like warm grey or soft sepia). Many developer tools (VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, terminals) support custom color themes for this reason.

Proposed Solution

  • A color picker or predefined palette in Settings to set the background color
  • Or support for custom theme files (e.g., CSS variables or a JSON theme config)

Alternative Solutions

Using OS-level dark/light mode, but this only offers two options and doesn't allow fine-grained control.

Medium - Would be very helpful
