What issue are you seeing?

After creating threads in Codex CLI on Linux, then exiting Codex and launching remote control the Android ChatGPT app connects to the host successfully, but says: No remote threads loaded for this host.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Start a Linux container

docker run -it
--name test-codex-remote-control
--security-opt=no-new-privileges
--network=bridge
--cpus="2.0"
--memory="4g"
--memory-swap="4g"
--storage-opt size=10G
ubuntu:22.04
bash

  1. Install Codex CLI

apt-get update && apt-get install -y curl
&& curl -fsSL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_22.x | bash -
&& apt install nodejs -y
&& npm install -g @openai/codex

  1. Run Codex CLI and log in on the device

Create a few threads in the CLI.

  1. Exit Codex CLI

  2. Start remote-control mode

RUST_LOG=trace LOG_FORMAT=json /usr/bin/codex remote-control 2> /tmp/codex-remote-control.full.log

  1. Connect from the Android ChatGPT app

What is the expected behavior?

Previously created threads from this host should appear in the Android app.

Additional information

The trace log suggests that threads are discovered during startup.

For example:

grep 'slingshot_backend_thread_list:initial' /tmp/codex-remote-control.full.log | grep Data
