Description

In the Claude Code VS Code extension, clicking / → "Change model" opens a "loading models..." tab that hangs indefinitely and never loads.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a Claude Code session in the VS Code extension
  2. Click / to open the command menu
  3. Click "Change model"
  4. A "loading models..." tab appears and never resolves

Expected behavior

A model picker appears with available models listed.

Actual behavior

The tab hangs on "loading models..." indefinitely. The only way to select a model is to type /model sonnet or /model opus directly in the chat.

Environment

  • Plan: Claude Pro ($20/month)
  • OS: macOS
  • Interface: VS Code extension (not CLI)

What Should Happen?

The model picker should load. It would also be good to report the current model being used; there is currently no way to tell that from the interface.
