claude-code - 💡(How to fix) Fix [BUG] Claude Code won't execute scheduled routines

What's Wrong?

When I try and run scheduled routines, my code doesn't execute and is stuck at "setting up cloud container". Some have been stuck at this for a day now.

What Should Happen?

My code should execute. It won't even start.

Bug: Remote routine sessions stuck indefinitely at "Setting up a cloud container"

Environment

Claude Code: v2.1.138 Model: claude-opus-4-7, Max plan Platform: macOS Routine type: CCR (cloud remote), environment env_011WjLDooWBsw1B8NKh4T8qD (anthropic_cloud) Steps to reproduce

Create a remote routine at claude.ai/code/routines with a cron schedule and a git repository source Trigger the routine — either via the scheduled cron or manually via "Run now" Open the routine in the UI and observe the active session Expected behavior Container starts within ~30 seconds, agent begins executing

Actual behavior Session shows "Setting up a cloud container" indefinitely — never progresses past this stage. Has been stuck for 18+ hours across 4 separate sessions (2 scheduled, 2 manual). Sessions from yesterday are still showing as "Running."

Additional notes

No stop/cancel button is available in the UI for active sessions — no way to kill stuck sessions The issue is consistent across every trigger (scheduled and manual) Nothing executes — no code runs, no output produced Affects both claude-sonnet-4-6 and claude-opus-4-7 models
