  1. Open Claude Desktop app on Windows
    1. Navigate to Dispatch section
    1. Send any message
    1. Message shows "Desktop appears offline. Will run when it reconnects." Expected behavior: Dispatch should connect to the desktop and run tasks normally.

Actual behavior: Dispatch reports desktop as offline indefinitely. Was working previously, stopped on May 25, 2026.

Troubleshooting already attempted:

  • Cleared app cache
    • Fully restarted the app
      • Signed out and signed back in
        • Reinstalled the app None of the above resolved the issue.

  • OS: Windows
    • Plan: Pro
      • Feature: Dispatch (Beta)

What Should Happen?

Dispatch should connect to the running desktop app and execute tasks, showing responses in the chat thread.

    1. Navigate to Dispatch (Beta) in the left sidebar
    1. Send any message (e.g. "hello")
    1. Observe response shows "Desktop appears offline. Will run when it reconnects."
    1. Issue persists indefinitely — app restart, cache clear, sign out/in, reinstall do not fix it
