What's Wrong?

The MCP servers themselves are 100% fine. Capitol-trades responds perfectly when given input manually. The bug is Claude Desktop not sending the initialize message through stdin to its subprocess servers. Since we can't easily roll back or force an update right now, a practical workaround is to file a bug report with the specific details we've uncovered. In Claude Desktop go to Help → Send Feedback and include:

Version 1.7196.0 All stdio MCP servers stopped working around May 12 Manually piping {"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"initialize"...} to the server via PowerShell works perfectly Claude Desktop is not sending stdin to MCP subprocess servers

That's a very actionable bug report that should get it fixed quickly. In the meantime, firecrawl and google-drive still work for you, and voicemode runs through WSL which may be unaffected too.

What Should Happen?

Was connecting to all mcp connections without error on the 11th, Became broken on the 12th.
