Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

This happens to me too. Every after 5 seconds of opening the app, it closes, crashes. I'm just using Claude terminal right now since I can't get it to work. Idk how i'll connect it to skills if it's automatic. This has to be solved now. I have M4 chip Tahoe 26.4.1.

What Should Happen?

Claude should open without CRASHING. Should be open until I close it myself

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue might be related to a regression in the Claude Code version 2.1.110, causing the app to crash after 5 seconds of opening.

Guidance

  • Verify if the issue persists when using a different Claude model, such as a previous version or a different model architecture, to isolate the problem.
  • Check if there are any known issues or updates related to the M4 chip or macOS version 26.4.1 that could be contributing to the crash.
  • Try to reproduce the issue using a different terminal or shell to rule out any Terminal.app-specific problems.
  • Since this is reported as a regression, comparing the current version (2.1.110) with the last known working version could provide insights into what changed and caused the issue.

Notes

The lack of error messages or logs makes it challenging to pinpoint the exact cause. The fact that it's a regression and worked in a previous version suggests that a comparison or rollback might be necessary to identify and fix the issue.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Given the information, a potential workaround could involve using a previous version of Claude Code that was known to work, if possible, until the issue is resolved in the current version.
