Bug Description There's an issue with claude code where I cannot roll back the conversation to a previous point. I double type Esc, enter the menu the CC becomes unresponsive to any inputs. I had to kill the terminal to start over

Environment Info

  • Platform: darwin
  • Terminal: iTerm.app
  • Version: 2.1.119
  • Feedback ID: 4021171a-ba94-48d8-8697-c7a3afbdd930

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue may be resolved by investigating and handling the unresponsive state of the CC after entering the menu.

Guidance

  • Investigate the CC's behavior after entering the menu to determine why it becomes unresponsive to inputs.
  • Check if there are any known issues with iTerm.app version 2.1.119 that could be contributing to the problem.
  • Attempt to reproduce the issue with a different terminal emulator to isolate if the problem is specific to iTerm.app.
  • Consider providing more details about the claude code and the menu system to help identify potential causes.

Notes

The lack of error messages in the Errors section makes it challenging to pinpoint the exact cause, and more information about the claude code and its interaction with the terminal is needed for a more accurate diagnosis.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Given the limited information, it's safer to try workarounds, such as using a different terminal or checking for updates to iTerm.app, rather than attempting a specific fix without more context.
