Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

The Cowork tab does not appear in the Claude Desktop app. Only the "Chat" tab is visible. I am a Claude Pro subscriber and Cowork has never appeared since I first installed the app.

What Should Happen?

The Cowork tab should appear in the Claude Desktop app alongside the Chat tab, allowing me to use Cowork as advertised for Claude Pro subscribers.

Additional Information

  • Windows 11 Pro, Build 25H2
  • Hyper-V is enabled
  • Full clean reinstall attempted (including manual deletion of %appdata% and %localappdata% Claude folders)
  • Windows updated from 21H2 to 25H2 during troubleshooting — issue persists
  • Claude Pro subscriber
  • Related issues: #18770, #25136, #48407

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue might be related to the configuration or entitlement of the Claude Pro subscription, and verifying the subscription status or checking for any known issues with the Anthropic API could help resolve the missing Cowork tab.

Guidance

  • Check the Claude Pro subscription status to ensure it is active and properly configured, as the Cowork feature is advertised for Pro subscribers.
  • Review the related issues (#18770, #25136, #48407) to see if any of them provide insight into the problem or a potential workaround.
  • Consider reaching out to the Anthropic support team to verify if there are any known issues with the API or the Claude Desktop app that could be causing the Cowork tab to not appear.
  • Ensure that all dependencies and requirements for the Cowork feature are met, although the issue report does not specify what these might be.

Notes

The issue report lacks specific error messages or logs, which could provide more insight into the technical cause of the problem. The fact that a full clean reinstall of the app and updates to the operating system did not resolve the issue suggests that the problem might be more complex or related to the subscription or API configuration.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Given the lack of clear technical details and the persistence of the issue through various troubleshooting steps, it might be best to explore workarounds or seek direct support from Anthropic, focusing on verifying the subscription status and checking for known issues with the Anthropic API.
