What's Wrong?

When a file is opened in the Files panel (right side panel) of the Claude Code Desktop App, switching to another session via the left sidebar causes the opened file to disappear. The Files panel resets to empty on every session switch.

What Should Happen?

Each session should independently remember its Files panel state (i.e., which files were open), and restore them automatically when switching back to that session.

Error Messages/Logs

No error shown — the file silently disappears.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open the Claude Code Desktop App
  2. Open any file in the Files panel (right side panel, ⇧⌘F)
  3. Switch to a different session via the left session sidebar
  4. Switch back to the original session
  5. The previously opened file is gone — Files panel is empty
