What's Wrong?

Claude Code desktop app stopped responding to prompts. When a message is typed and Enter is pressed, nothing happens. A red error appears: "Something went wrong — Select a repo first." The "Select repo..." button also does nothing when clicked.

What Should Happen?

The app should respond to prompts normally without requiring a repo selection for general conversation. The "Select repo..." button should open a file picker dialog.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Code desktop app (Research preview)
  2. Type any prompt in the input field
  3. Press Enter
  4. Red error appears: "Select a repo first"
  5. Clicking "Select repo..." button does nothing
