What's Wrong?

In Claude Code Desktop, since updating to version 1.2581.0 (f10398) 2026-04-14T17:16:40.000Z I'm no longer able to leave inline comments in Plan view within code blocks. This worked in the version right before this one, but now when I select text in a code block, it no longer brings up the "Comment" bubble.

What Should Happen?

I should be able to leave inline plan comments within code blocks, not just to prose. It's very useful to, for example, ask about changing a specific property in a generated interface example (in the plan doc, not the diff after coding). This used to work in the version right before 1.2581.0, and I was super happy about it.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Ask Claude Code Desktop, in Plan mode, to plan out some code that has explicit code blocks (e.g. a TypeScript interface)
  2. Open the Plan doc with the code block
  3. Select text within the code block

Expected

  • Comment button pops up and you can leave an inline comment (like it worked before)

Actual

  • No Comment button pops up
