What's Wrong?

My weekly limits suddenly got reset.

I saved my usage limits all week to use them on the last day. The usage dashboard showed that there were more than 24h before the weekly limit ends. But suddenly I realized they were reset early and I ended up using the limits from the new week instead of the limits I saved.

I am not sure if it was delibarate but this basically cost me 2 weeks of usage. 1 that I didn't use, trying to save and 1 week that were used before I realized the limits were reset.

And talking to your support bot about this is impossible as it's just trying to convince me that I must be wrong and early reset is impossible.

What Should Happen?

Limits should reset at the correct time

extent analysis

TL;DR

The weekly limits reset issue may be resolved by investigating the timing mechanism used by the Claude Code to reset limits and ensuring it aligns with the expected weekly cycle.

Guidance

  • Review the Claude Code documentation to understand how weekly limits are supposed to reset and at what time.
  • Check if there are any settings or configurations that could affect the reset timing, such as timezone settings or manual reset options.
  • Consider reaching out to the support team again, this time providing detailed screenshots or evidence of the early reset to help them understand the issue better.
  • If the issue persists, ask the support team about any known bugs or issues related to the weekly limit reset mechanism in version 2.1.112.

Example

No specific code example can be provided without more details on the Claude Code's internal workings.

Notes

The lack of information about the internal mechanisms of the Claude Code and its limit reset system makes it difficult to provide a precise fix. The issue might be specific to the version being used (2.1.112) or an unforeseen interaction with the user's settings.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Given the uncertainty around the cause and the potential for this being a version-specific issue, the best course of action might be to manually track usage limits until the issue can be fully investigated and resolved by the support team or through an update.
