What's Wrong?

I followed Claude's suggestions to resolve include uninstalling/reinstalling, but the problem persists. Degraded functionality. Windows 11 home. 10.2.26200 build 26200 Attached screen capture

What Should Happen?

After the update, the "chat" "cowork" and "code" menu should be present.

extent analysis

TL;DR

The missing upper middle menu bar in Claude Code after an update may be resolved by checking for any corrupted installation files or configuration issues.

Guidance

  • Verify that the uninstallation and reinstallation process was completed correctly, ensuring all residual files were removed.
  • Check for any updates to the Anthropic API or Windows 11 that may be causing compatibility issues with Claude Code version 2.1.101.
  • Review the attached screen capture to see if it provides any clues about the issue, such as error messages or unusual behavior.
  • Consider reaching out to the Claude Code support team for further assistance, as the issue persists after attempting the suggested troubleshooting steps.

Notes

The lack of error messages or logs makes it challenging to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue. Additionally, without knowing the last working version, it's difficult to determine if this is a regression specific to a particular update.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Given the persistence of the issue after uninstalling and reinstalling, it may be necessary to explore alternative solutions, such as manually reinstalling specific components or seeking assistance from the support team.
