Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When using claude remote-control, opening the generated session URL on an iPhone results in an infinite spinner on the claude.ai/code web interface. The session never connects.

What Should Happen?

The mobile browser should connect to the local Claude Code session and allow sending prompts.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Run claude remote-control on Windows PC
  2. Open the generated URL on iPhone (opens in browser, not the Claude mobile app which is weird)
  3. Spinner appears and never resolves — the session never becomes interactive

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue might be related to compatibility or configuration problems when accessing the Claude Code session URL on an iPhone, and checking the browser settings or trying an alternative browser could provide more insight.

Guidance

  • Verify that the generated session URL is correct and properly formatted for mobile access, considering any potential differences in how URLs are handled between Windows and iOS.
  • Try opening the session URL in a different browser on the iPhone to see if the issue is browser-specific.
  • Check if there are any specific settings or configurations on the iPhone or in the Claude Code application that could be causing the infinite spinner, such as security settings or cookies.
  • Consider testing the session URL on a different mobile device or platform to isolate if the issue is specific to iPhones or a broader mobile compatibility problem.

Notes

The lack of error messages or logs makes it challenging to pinpoint the exact cause, and without more information about previous working versions or specific configurations, it's difficult to provide a more targeted solution.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Given the information, trying the session URL in a different browser or on a different device seems like the most straightforward approach to troubleshoot and potentially find a workaround for the issue.
