Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

With thin terminals (I've tested it at about 70 characters wide) the security prompt shows an ellipsis at the end of the line when the user tries to add some extra specification to those "yes"/"no" options, making it impossible to read what the user types after that.

What Should Happen?

Security prompt should not add ellipsis but rather wrap input around just like it does in wider terminals.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open a thin terminal (40-characters wide would be enough).
  2. Open claude CLI.
  3. Prompt something so that it pops the security prompt up.
  4. Start typing some extra specification and go past the end of the line.
