Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

All recent sessions appear in the sidebar but open completely empty — no conversation history is visible. This affects every session except the currently active one.

Steps taken that did not fix it: restarted the app, checked for updates (already on latest), signed out and back in.

OS: Windows 11 Enterprise App version: 1.7196.0 (desktop app) Claude Code version: 2.1.138

What Should Happen?

Clicking a session in the sidebar should load and display the full conversation history.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Code desktop app (Windows)
  2. Complete any conversation in a session
  3. Start a new session or relaunch the app
  4. Click any previous session in the sidebar
  5. Session opens but displays no conversation history — completely blank
