Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When I start the app the tabs for Chat, Cowork and Code. The app is. functioning, it is in chat mode, but I cannot switch to the other modes. Both Cowork and Code seem to be available in the settings. I am on a Pro plan. I restarted the app this morning and it performed an auto update. This may have caused the issue. Yesterday the tabs were still available. Claude app version 1.2581.0 MacOs Sequoia 15.7.4 MacMini M2Pro

What Should Happen?

Tabs should be available. There is no way to use Cowork now.

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue might be related to the recent auto-update of the Claude app, and reverting to a previous version or waiting for a patch could resolve the tab switching problem.

Guidance

  • Verify that the issue persists after a full restart of the MacMini M2 Pro to ensure it's not a transient problem.
  • Check the Claude app's settings to see if there are any configuration options related to tab visibility or mode switching that may have been altered by the update.
  • Since the issue is confirmed as a regression, reaching out to the development team or waiting for a patch that addresses this specific problem might be the most straightforward solution.
  • Consider checking for any updates on the GitHub issues page or the official Claude app support channels for similar reports or fixes.

Example

No specific code snippet can be provided due to the nature of the issue, which seems to be related to the application's UI or configuration rather than a coding error.

Notes

The lack of error messages or logs makes it challenging to pinpoint the exact cause, suggesting that the issue might be related to the application's internal state or configuration post-update.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Given the regression nature of the issue and the absence of a clear technical fix, waiting for an official patch or update from the developers seems to be the safest approach, as it avoids potential risks associated with downgrading the application version.
