What's Wrong?

Description: After the automatic update to version 1.2773.0 (884b37), the top navigation tabs are no longer visible in the Claude desktop app. Only the chat interface is displayed. The app was working correctly at the end of the previous workday (April 15, 2026).

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch Claude desktop app v1.2773.0 on Windows 11 Pro
  2. Observe the top of the application window

Expected behavior: Navigation tabs visible at the top of the app window (as in previous versions).

Actual behavior: Top tabs are completely missing. Only the chat interface is visible.

Environment:

  • App version: 1.2773.0 (884b37)
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro (Build 26100)
  • Issue appeared: Morning of April 16, 2026 (after overnight auto-update)

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue with the top navigation tabs not being visible in the Claude desktop app after the automatic update to version 1.2773.0 may be resolved by checking for any layout or UI configuration changes introduced in the update.

Guidance

  • Review the release notes for version 1.2773.0 to see if there were any changes to the app's layout or UI configuration that could be causing the issue.
  • Check if there are any new settings or options in the app that could be toggled to restore the top navigation tabs.
  • Verify if the issue persists across different Windows themes or display settings to rule out any environmental factors.
  • Consider reaching out to the development team or checking the GitHub issues page for any similar reports or known issues with the update.

Example

No code snippet is provided as the issue seems to be related to the app's UI configuration rather than a specific code error.

Notes

The issue appears to be a regression, and the fact that it occurred after an automatic update suggests that the problem might be related to changes introduced in the new version. However, without more information about the update or the app's internal workings, it's difficult to provide a more specific solution.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Given the lack of information about the update and the app's configuration, it's recommended to try and find a workaround, such as checking for new settings or options, rather than waiting for a potential fix in a future update.
