Describe the problem/error/question

This is very shitty stupid and very unfriendly WebUI of using n8n. When clicking an existing workflow (empty) in my project, it auto-created a new workflow, and generate a new URI; I can't get back to the same existing workflow at all. What is heck of this bug?! I am using the n8n cloud version.

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue can be mitigated by carefully examining the workflow selection process in the n8n cloud version to prevent auto-creation of new workflows.

Guidance

  • Verify that the existing workflow is correctly selected before clicking on it to avoid auto-creation of a new workflow.
  • Check the URI generated after clicking on the existing workflow to ensure it matches the expected workflow ID.
  • If the issue persists, try to reproduce it with a minimal workflow to isolate the cause.
  • Consider reaching out to n8n support for further assistance, as this behavior may be specific to the cloud version or a configuration issue.

Notes

The provided information does not include specific steps to reproduce the issue or detailed error messages, making it challenging to provide a definitive solution.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: carefully select existing workflows and verify the generated URI to prevent auto-creation of new workflows, as the root cause of this issue is unclear and may require further investigation or support from n8n.
