Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I set up 12 schedules tasks on my system, always choosing to run on Opus 4.7 1M Max, also i explicitly mention inside the task instructions to only use OPus 4.7 as model, but when running automatically in the night it keeps using Sonnet with very superficial outcome.

What Should Happen?

I must run always in Opus 4.7 1M Max.

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue may be resolved by ensuring that the task instructions are correctly formatted to specify the Opus 4.7 1M Max model for automatic runs.

Guidance

  • Verify that the task instructions explicitly mention "Opus 4.7 1M Max" as the required model, and check for any formatting or syntax issues.
  • Check the Anthropic API documentation to ensure that the correct model specification is being used in the task instructions.
  • Test the task with a manual run to see if the issue is specific to automatic runs or if it occurs in both cases.
  • Consider reaching out to Anthropic support for further assistance, as the error message suggests that Claude itself recommended posting the issue to the Anthropic community.

Notes

The issue may be related to how the task instructions are being interpreted by the Anthropic API, and further investigation is needed to determine the root cause.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Verify and correct the task instructions to ensure that the Opus 4.7 1M Max model is correctly specified, as this may resolve the issue without requiring an upgrade or further changes.
