Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues
  • This is a single bug report
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Running the /usage slash command renders the usage charts for a brief moment, then they disappear, leaving the view without readable usage data. Re-running /usage reproduces the same flash-then-vanish behavior, so current usage cannot actually be viewed.

What Should Happen?

After running /usage, the usage charts should remain visible so current usage can be reviewed.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Code
  2. Run /usage
  3. Observe the usage charts render for a brief moment
  4. Charts disappear before they can be read
  5. Re-running /usage reproduces the same behavior

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue with the /usage command in Claude Code may be related to a rendering or display issue, and checking the command's output or the Anthropic API response for any errors or inconsistencies could provide more insight.

Guidance

  • Verify that the Anthropic API is responding correctly to the /usage command by checking for any API errors or warnings.
  • Check the Claude Code version 2.1.118 for any known issues or bugs related to the /usage command.
  • Try running the /usage command with additional options or parameters to see if it affects the rendering of the usage charts.
  • Consider testing the /usage command in a different environment or platform to isolate the issue.

Notes

The issue may be specific to the Opus Claude Model or the Anthropic API, and further investigation into the API response or the model's configuration may be necessary to resolve the issue.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Try running the /usage command with additional options or parameters to see if it affects the rendering of the usage charts, as this may provide a temporary solution until the root cause is identified.
