Issue Description

After upgrading to OpenClaw 2026.5.22, the web UI send/stop button does not switch back to "Send" after a task finishes executing.

Steps to reproduce

Reproduction Steps

  1. Open OpenClaw web UI (or refresh the page)
  2. Send any message
  3. Wait for the model to generate a response
  4. After the response is complete, observe that the button is still showing "Stop" instead of "Send"
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 — can be triggered 100% of the time

Expected behavior: Button should revert to "Send" after task completion.

Environment:

  • OpenClaw version: 2026.5.22
  • OS: Windows
  • Channel: webchat

Additional notes:

  • Refreshing the page fixes the issue temporarily
  • This bug was not present in version 2026.5.20
