Bug Description
The Claude for Chrome extension fails to connect to Claude Code.
The tabs_context_mcp tool consistently returns "Browser extension is not connected."
Environment
- Claude Code version: 2.1.139
- Claude for Chrome extension version: 1.0.70
- OS: Windows 11 Home Single Language 10.0.26200
- Browser: Google Chrome
Steps taken
- Extension is installed and enabled in chrome://extensions
- Logged into claude.ai in Chrome with the same account as Claude Code
- Restarted Chrome completely
- Restarted Claude Code
Expected behavior
Claude Code should be able to connect to Chrome via the extension and use browser automation tools.
Actual behavior
Every call to tabs_context_mcp returns: "Browser extension is not connected."
