I am a Claude Max subscriber. I wrote to Anthropic to report a recurring technical error that has blocked my access to the service twice in the past two days. On my first day back after a three-day absence from Cowork, I worked for approximately one hour before receiving a rate limit error. That was not possible given my plan and my usage. Today, I used both Cowork and Chat on and off for approximately three hours - less than my typical session - and received the same error again. I work only with .md files. I do not mix topics within a single thread. My usage patterns have not changed. I submitted an in-app error report both times. Neither resolved the issue or restored my access.

I think this is a documented bug. GitHub issues #37856, #41788, and #41212 describe the identical pattern: Max plan subscribers receiving rate limit errors with usage counters showing well below their allocated quota. The enforcement logic is misfiring against actual usage.

I am paying for Max tier access. Losing working hours twice in two days to a confirmed bug - with no path to restore access and no human support available - is not acceptable.

I requested:

  1. Confirmation that this is a known issue on my account
  2. Restoration of any lost session time
  3. A timeline for the fix
  4. A human response - not an AI-generated reply

I also asked to treat this as a formal complaint.
