What variant of Codex are you using?

CLI

What feature would you like to see?

Basically what the title says.

I don't know if I miss some setting to change it back to percentage, but the new visual meter for used context in a session is not good. I would like to see the exact percentage I have left. Please add at least an alternative statusline widget for the percentage. Thank you very much! 🙏

extent analysis

TL;DR

Add an alternative statusline widget to display the exact percentage of used context in a session.

Guidance

  • Review the current settings for the Codex CLI to see if there's an option to switch back to percentage display.
  • Check the documentation for available statusline widgets that can be customized or added.
  • Consider reaching out to the development team to request the addition of a percentage display option.
  • Examine the provided image to see if it offers any clues about the current configuration or potential workarounds.

Notes

The issue lacks technical details about the Codex CLI version, configuration, or available APIs, making it difficult to provide a more specific solution.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Add a custom statusline widget to display the percentage, if possible, as the current visual meter is not meeting the user's needs.
