What issue are you seeing?

I am using the Codex desktop app on Windows 11. Almost every day, my current Codex chat/session fails or stops working, and I am forced to start a new chat to continue working.

Now the Codex desktop app also causes my PC to freeze / become unstable, so I cannot reliably find the app version or continue working in the desktop app.

Expected behavior: The Codex chat/session should continue working normally without failing every day, and the desktop app should not freeze my computer.

Actual behavior: The chat/session fails repeatedly, I have to open a new Codex chat, and the desktop app can freeze or make my PC unstable.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Codex desktop app on Windows 11.
  2. Work in an existing chat/session for coding tasks.
  3. After some time or the next day, the session fails/stops working.
  4. I have to create a new chat/session.
  5. Recently, the desktop app also freezes / destabilizes the PC.

This has happened repeatedly, not just once.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Feedback ID: 019e0892-077a-7d41-ad72-9bad2b9ba00e

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the Codex desktop app on Windows 11.
  2. Continue working in an existing Codex chat/session.
  3. After some time or the next day, the current session fails or stops responding.
  4. I have to open a new Codex chat/session to continue working.
  5. Recently, the desktop app also freezes or destabilizes my PC.

This happens repeatedly, almost every day.

What is the expected behavior?

The existing Codex chat/session should continue working normally without failing every day.

The Codex desktop app should remain stable and should not freeze or destabilize my Windows PC.

I should not have to create a new chat/session every day to continue the same work.

Additional information

I could not find the Codex app version because the desktop app becomes unstable/freezes.
