What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

Version 26.513.20950 (2816)

What platform is your computer?

Darwin 25.4.0 x86_64 i386

What issue are you seeing?

I’m seeing a UI layout/rendering issue in the Codex desktop app on macOS.

There are two related UI problems:

  1. When I type "/" in a conversation, the slash command menu opens, but the lower part of the menu is obscured by another panel. Some command items are not visible or clickable.

  2. On the Plugins page, a large white overlay/panel covers the center of the page. Plugin content is only partially visible on the right side, and the list/content cannot be viewed normally.

Environment:

  • OS: macOS
  • Platform: Darwin 25.4.0 x86_64 i386
  • UI language: Chinese
  • Window mode: non-fullscreen
  • Date observed: May 15, 2026

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Codex App on macOS.
  2. Open a conversation and type "/" to open the slash command menu.
  3. Observe that the lower part of the menu is covered/hidden.
  4. Open the Plugins page.
  5. Observe that the main content is covered by a large white overlay and the plugin list/content is partially hidden.

Expected behavior: The slash command menu and Plugins page should be fully visible and clickable.

Actual behavior: UI panels appear to be incorrectly layered or positioned, causing content to be obscured.

I attached screenshots showing both [cases.](url)

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Open Codex App on macOS.
  2. Use the app in Chinese UI.
  3. Open a conversation.
  4. Type "/" in the message box to open the slash command menu.
  5. Observe that the lower part of the command menu is covered by another panel.
  6. Open the Plugins page from the left sidebar.
  7. Observe that the center of the page is covered by a large white overlay/panel, while plugin content is only partially visible on the right side.

This happens in a non-fullscreen app window. I attached screenshots showing both the slash command menu issue and the Plugins page issue.

What is the expected behavior?

The slash command menu should be fully visible and clickable.

The Plugins page should render normally, with the plugin list and content fully visible and not covered by any overlay or blank panel.

Additional information

Environment:

  • OS: macOS on Intel
  • Platform: Darwin 25.4.0 x86_64 i386
  • UI language: Chinese
  • Window mode: non-fullscreen
  • Date observed: May 15, 2026

The issue appears to be a UI layering, overlay, or layout/rendering problem. Resizing the window or using fullscreen may temporarily change the layout, but the app should handle this window size correctly.
