What platform is your computer?

Darwin x86_64 macOS 13.7.8

What issue are you seeing?

In the Codex desktop app, “Attach appshot” always fails with the toast:

Unable to attach appshot

Screen Recording is enabled for both Codex and Codex Helper. I tried removing/re-adding permissions, resetting ScreenCapture permissions, quitting/reopening Codex, and restarting. It still fails every time.

macOS logs show: CGSWindowShmemCreateWithPort failed on port 0

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Open Codex desktop app on macOS 13.7.8.
  2. Ensure Screen Recording is enabled for Codex and Codex Helper.
  3. Open any visible app window.
  4. In Codex, click attach / appshot.
  5. Select the visible app window.

Result: Codex shows “Unable to attach appshot”. Expected: Codex should attach the selected app/window screenshot.
