Subject: Bug report: Dragging a folder into Codex results in confusing file handling UI

Hi Codex team,

I ran into a UI/interaction issue in the Codex desktop app on Windows.

I dragged a backup folder for my custom skill, gpt-powers, into Codex. After dropping the folder, the interface ended up in the state shown in the attached screenshot. Codex appeared to expand or attach files from the folder individually, and the UI showed file cards / edited files in a way that was confusing.

Expected behavior: When a user drags a folder into Codex, Codex should clearly explain what will happen before processing it. For example, it could ask whether to:

  • attach the folder contents,
  • import it as a project/folder,
  • ignore unsupported files,
  • or cancel the action.

Actual behavior: After dragging the folder in, the UI became confusing and it was not clear whether Codex had only attached the files, staged them, or modified something. This makes folder drag-and-drop feel risky, especially when the folder contains skill backups or project files.

Feature request: I also think Codex should include a built-in screenshot button. From a human interaction perspective, it would be much easier if users could capture the current Codex window or UI state directly inside Codex when reporting bugs or asking for help. This would make bug reporting and visual feedback much smoother.

Thanks.
