What issue are you seeing?

A large overlay/bar covers a significant part of the Codex Desktop UI. The app is also very slow and scrolling stutters.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Use an Intel MacBook Pro.
  2. Download the official macOS Intel build of Codex Desktop from Codex for Developers.
  3. Install it by dragging Codex.app into the Applications folder.
  4. Open Codex.app.
  5. Log in with an OpenAI account.
  6. Open the main Codex Desktop interface.
  7. Observe that a large horizontal overlay/bar appears covering a significant portion of the UI.
  8. Try switching appearance between dark mode and light mode.
  9. Observe that the overlay/bar remains.
  10. Try scrolling inside the app.
  11. Observe that scrolling is slow/stuttery.

What is the expected behavior?

The Codex Desktop UI should render normally without any overlay/bar covering the interface, and scrolling should be smooth.
