Root Cause

Computer Use Chrome extension is not installed, but this appears unrelated because the built-in browser works outside the project.

Codex Desktop macOS latest version.

Browser setting is enabled globally. In-app browser works in a new chat outside a project, but does not work in chats inside my WPLink project. In project chats, the agent does not receive Browser Use tools and reports “The in-app browser backend is not available in this session.”

Computer Use Chrome extension is not installed, but this appears unrelated because the built-in browser works outside the project.

Expected: Browser Use tools should be available in project chats when Browser is enabled globally. Actual: Browser Use tools are missing only inside the project context.

PS: it worked before but from what I can tell recent Codex updates have broken it.
