https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/e44b1f3e-700e-48fb-9345-8fe124eb657f

When opening a file link refs by the AI agent on the side panel, the file content begins to flicker continuously and does not stop.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

I observed that this issue only occurs when opening a large file while the side panel is closed. If the side panel is already open, reopening the same file does not trigger the problem.

What is the expected behavior?

It should not flicker at all.

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue may be resolved by keeping the side panel open when opening large files referenced by the AI agent.

Guidance

  • Verify that the issue only occurs when the side panel is closed and a large file is opened through the AI agent's link.
  • Try opening the side panel before clicking on the file link to see if it prevents the flickering issue.
  • If the issue persists, check if there are any known bugs or fixes related to the version of the Codex App being used (Version 26.429.30905).
  • Consider reporting the issue with more details, such as the size of the large files and any other relevant settings or configurations.

Notes

The provided information does not include enough technical details to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue, so these suggestions are based on the observed behavior and may not fully resolve the problem.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Keep the side panel open when opening large files, as it seems to prevent the flickering issue according to the user's observations.
