Root Cause

This makes the Codex chat list harder to read and organize, especially when the original prompt is long. It also makes it difficult to quickly identify past Codex sessions, because many titles become long, duplicated, or only show the first part of the raw prompt.

I want to report a Codex mobile issue related to chat title generation.

When starting a new Codex session from Codex mobile, the conversation title is often generated incorrectly. Normally, the title should be an automatically summarized title that briefly describes the task. However, on Codex mobile, it often appears to directly use the user’s original prompt content as the conversation title.

For example, instead of generating a short summarized title like:

“Improve StepLens Live Perspective Correction”

Codex mobile may use the beginning of the full user prompt directly as the title, such as:

“请继续完善 StepLens 的 Live Perspective Co...”

This makes the Codex chat list harder to read and organize, especially when the original prompt is long. It also makes it difficult to quickly identify past Codex sessions, because many titles become long, duplicated, or only show the first part of the raw prompt.

Expected behavior: Codex mobile should generate a concise summarized title for each new Codex session, similar to the normal ChatGPT/Codex behavior.

Actual behavior: Codex mobile often uses the user’s original message directly as the session title instead of generating a summarized title.

Platform: Codex mobile / iOS mobile app

Frequency: This happens commonly when starting Codex sessions from mobile.

Please investigate whether Codex mobile is skipping or failing the title summarization step when creating new sessions.
