What subscription do you have?

Pro

What platform is your computer?

Darwin 24.6.0 arm64 arm

What issue are you seeing?

When ever I open codex, it disables fast mode. This used to retain my last setting, but now it seems to be resetting it constantly. There might be more cases, like sometimes I feel like if I wait long enough between use, when I open a new chat, it's in normal speed mode again.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Close and open after a while

What is the expected behavior?

Retain my last setting

extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue might be resolved by checking the application's settings storage or configuration to ensure that the last setting is being saved correctly.

Guidance

  • Verify that the Codex App is correctly saving the fast mode setting by checking if there are any errors or issues with the application's settings storage.
  • Try to reproduce the issue with a consistent time interval between closing and opening the app to see if the problem is related to a specific timeout or caching mechanism.
  • Check if there are any other settings or configurations that could be interfering with the fast mode setting.
  • Consider resetting the application's settings to their default values to see if the issue persists.

Notes

The issue seems to be related to the application's ability to retain settings between sessions, but without more information about the application's internal workings, it's difficult to provide a more specific solution.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Try to find an alternative way to save the fast mode setting, such as using a external configuration file or a different settings storage mechanism, until the issue is fixed in a future version of the Codex App.
