Platform: Ubuntu 24.04 (Dell laptop, Claude Code CLI) Version: 2.1.139 Regression: Was working in 2.1.138

Behavior: After hitting 'No' to deny a tool call, the text input field that appears to add a denial reason/note does not accept keyboard input. Nothing typed registers in the field, so the user cannot add context when rejecting a tool call.

Impact: User ends up sending plain rejections instead of being able to redirect with a question or explanation. Claude re-attempts without context instead of adjusting.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Prompt Claude to use a tool
  2. Hit 'No' to deny the tool call
  3. Attempt to type in the denial reason text field
  4. Nothing appears — input is not captured

Workaround: Use Escape to cancel the tool, then type redirect in the main input box.
