What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

Latest

What subscription do you have?

ChatGpt Pro

What platform is your computer?

MaxOS

What issue are you seeing?

The file viewer on the right side does not show any .files. It's useful for us to view skills etc in .agents/skills. This is when "all files" is toggled. In diff view it does show up.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Open Codex App -> All Files toggle in file viewer on the right.

What is the expected behavior?

Allow users to see all files and folders like any normal IDE would.

extent analysis

TL;DR

The file viewer in the Codex App may not be correctly configured to display all files, including those with specific extensions like .agents/skills, when the "All Files" toggle is enabled.

Guidance

  • Verify that the file extensions in question (e.g., .agents, .skills) are not being filtered out by any default settings or preferences within the Codex App.
  • Check if there's an option to manually add or configure file types that should be visible in the file viewer.
  • Test if the issue persists when viewing files in a different location or with different file types to isolate if the problem is specific to certain files or locations.
  • Consider reaching out to Codex App support or community forums for further assistance, as this might be a known issue or a setting that needs to be adjusted.

Notes

The provided information does not specify any version-specific issues or known bugs related to file viewing in the Codex App, so it's unclear if this is a widespread problem or a configuration issue specific to the user's setup.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Since the issue seems related to the visibility of specific file types, trying to manually configure or adjust settings related to file type visibility might offer a temporary solution until a more definitive fix can be found.
