Problem Statement

Auto mode is unavailable on the Max plan (both 5x and 20x tiers) despite being available on Team and Enterprise.

Steps to reproduce:

• Max 20x subscriber
• Run: claude --enable-auto-mode
• UI shows "auto mode unavailable for this model"

Expected: Auto mode should be available on Max — it is the premium individual plan at $200/month, above Team at $30/person/month.

Claude Code version: 2.1.140 OS: macOS

Proposed Solution

Extend auto mode availability to the Max plan (5x and 20x tiers).

Max is the premium individual subscription at $100-$200/month and includes Claude Code as a core offering. Auto mode being available on Team ($30/person/month) but not Max creates an inconsistency where lower-priced plan subscribers have access to a feature that premium individual subscribers do not.

The fix would simply be to enable auto mode for all Max plan subscribers, consistent with the Max plan's positioning as having "priority access to new features".
