Problem

Currently, conversation tabs in the VS Code Claude Code extension cannot be renamed. The tab title is automatically generated from the first message in the conversation, which makes it difficult to organize and identify conversations when working on multiple projects or topics.

Proposed Solution

Allow users to rename conversation tabs, either by:

  • Right-clicking the tab → "Rename"
  • Double-clicking the tab title
  • An edit button in the tab header

Use Case

Users working on multiple projects (e.g., academic papers, codebases) need to quickly identify which conversation belongs to which project without having to open each one.

v2.1.140
