What would you like to be added?

I really love using Gemini CLI, but working entirely in the terminal can sometimes limit the user experience. It would be amazing if the team could develop a full-fledged desktop software (GUI version) for Gemini CLI. This would allow for better workspace management, multi-agent visualizations, and a more intuitive workflow for users who prefer graphical interfaces alongside the terminal.

Why is this needed?

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

While the current Gemini CLI is powerful for quick terminal tasks, relying solely on a command-line interface limits user experience during complex development workflows. Managing multi-file analysis, viewing side-by-side code diffs, tracking multi-agent token usage, and cross-project context shifting can become clumsy and text-heavy in a standard terminal.

Describe the solution you'd like

I would like to request transforming or expanding Gemini CLI into a full-fledged GUI software/application (or a comprehensive standalone desktop app).

A GUI-based software would significantly enhance productivity by incorporating:

  1. Visual Project Workspace: A dedicated sidebar to easily manage local repositories, file trees, and active prompt contexts.
  2. Interactive Code Diffs: A visual, side-by-side code comparison tool (similar to modern IDEs) to review, accept, or reject Gemini's code suggestions before applying them.
  3. Multi-Agent Management Dashboard: A graphical way to orchestrate, visualize, and configure multiple AI workflows or Agent Skills concurrently.
  4. Rich Media & File Handling: An intuitive drag-and-drop interface for local assets, documentation, and source code files.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Using terminal multiplexers (like tmux) or generic IDE extensions, but a dedicated, deeply integrated GUI application built natively around Gemini's unique capabilities (like massive context windows) would provide a vastly superior and streamlined experience.

Additional context

Providing a full GUI software alongside the CLI option would bridge the gap between hard-core terminal power users and developers who thrive in modern, visual development environments. Thank you for your amazing work on this project!
