What issue are you seeing?

After the latest side panel update, the Files panel does not refresh to the current chat/workspace. The chat is associated with one project, but clicking Files shows files from a previously opened project. The top-left path only shows "/" instead of the actual workspace path. Suggested files belong to the current chat, but the file tree belongs to the previous workspace.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Open Codex Desktop App.
  2. Open or work in Project A.
  3. Open the new side panel and choose Files. The file tree correctly shows Project A.
  4. Switch to a different chat/thread that belongs to Project B, or open a chat from another project.
  5. Open the new side panel again and choose Files.
  6. The Files panel still shows files from Project A instead of Project B.
  7. In my case, the top-left path only shows "/" instead of the actual workspace/project path.
  8. The main panel can still show suggested files from the current chat/project, but the file tree on the right belongs to the previous project.
  9. Restarting or switching side panel modes may be needed to temporarily recover, but the Files panel does not reliably refresh when moving between projects/chats.

This happened after the latest side panel update where Files, Side chat, Browser, and Terminal can be selected from the side panel.

What is the expected behavior?

When I open the Files panel from a chat/thread, it should show the files for the workspace/project associated with that current chat.

The displayed path should show the actual workspace root, not just "/".

When switching from one project/chat to another, the Files panel should refresh immediately and should not keep showing the previous project's file tree.
