Root Cause

What happened?

This makes absolutely no sense. I first thought it was something else, but I'm able to repeatedly reproduce.

I have a wifi hotspot that EVERYTHING else i try works on, however, when i use gemini cli, it doesn't want to work and just hangs.

Environment: Windows 11 25H2 Ubuntu-24.04 on WSL2

Everything works when i'm on a different network. Only when using the hotspot does gemini cli timeout and fail. I realize that it probably isn't a gemini-cli bug itself, but looking for ideas on how to troubleshoot.

What did you expect to happen?

gemini cli opens.
