extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue might be resolved by updating the Homebrew formula before attempting to upgrade the gemini-cli package.

Guidance

  • Run brew update to ensure the Homebrew formula is up-to-date, as this might resolve the version discrepancy.
  • Verify that the gemini-cli formula has been updated by checking the version available in Homebrew using brew info gemini-cli.
  • If the update is available, proceed with brew upgrade gemini-cli to install the latest version.
  • If the issue persists, consider resetting the Homebrew package list using brew cleanup and then retry the update process.

Notes

The provided information suggests a potential mismatch between the locally installed version of gemini-cli and the version reported by the CLI. However, without further details on the Homebrew configuration or the gemini-cli package, these steps are speculative.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Run brew update and then brew upgrade gemini-cli to attempt to resolve the version discrepancy, as this is a non-invasive and straightforward approach to potentially fix the issue.
