extent analysis

TL;DR

The issue might be related to the terminal emulator or VS Code settings, and checking the terminal configuration could provide a workaround.

Guidance

  • Investigate the difference in behavior between the Ghosty terminal and the VS Code integrated terminal, focusing on any specific settings or configurations that might affect paste functionality.
  • Check if there are any known issues or limitations with the Codex CLI version (0.129.0-alpha.8) related to terminal integration or paste functionality.
  • Verify if the issue persists when using a different terminal emulator or a native terminal application to isolate the problem.
  • Consider checking the VS Code settings for any overrides or customizations that might interfere with the paste functionality in the integrated terminal.

Notes

The lack of information about the platform, terminal emulator, and expected behavior limits the ability to provide a more specific solution. Further investigation into the terminal and VS Code settings is necessary to determine the root cause.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Given the uncertainty around the root cause, applying a workaround such as using a different terminal emulator or adjusting VS Code settings might provide a temporary solution until the issue can be fully resolved.
