Steps to reproduce
- Start a Codex run using Plan mode.
- Let Codex reach a point where it asks the user a clarification question / waits for user input.
- Open or continue the same Codex run from the iOS ChatGPT app.
- Observe the mobile Codex UI.
- Return to the desktop Codex app and observe the same run state.
Expected behavior
The mobile Codex UI should correctly display the Plan mode state when Codex is awaiting user input. If Codex asks a question, the iOS UI should show the question and allow the user to answer it directly from mobile.
Actual behavior
On iOS, the Codex page remains stuck in a thinking/loading state, making it look like Codex is still working. On the desktop Codex app, the same session correctly shows that Codex is awaiting the user’s answer and has already asked a question.
Impact
This makes Plan mode hard to use from mobile. The user cannot tell that Codex is actually waiting for an answer, so the session appears stalled or broken on iOS until the user checks the desktop app. This also creates inconsistent state display between mobile and desktop for the same Codex run.

Please fix the mobile Codex UI so it properly supports the Plan mode awaiting-user-input state, including displaying Codex’s question and allowing the user to respond from iOS.
