What happened?

I have a Google Workspace account and GeminiCLI was running perfectly fine. I login using Google Auth (No keys involved). Then I went ahead and created an account on GCP and then everything just went downhill. Since then, I am simple unable to use the pro model and it is permanently stuck on 100% used. I want to reiterate that I have associated any key or GCP project with my GeminiCLI.

What did you expect to happen?

I expected GeminiCLI to continue working as it with all models available and quota getting used normally however this change has completely blocked the quota.

Login information

I login using Google Auth of my workspace account. This is a company account, not a personal one. I can confirm that the organization has not blocked any usage or does not have any additional plans purchased that can clash with this. I am attaching screenshot of the same

Anything else we need to know?

Everything was working fine will all models until I went ahead and created a GCP account using my workspace account and it just went downwards from there.

extent analysis

TL;DR

Revert the recent change of creating a GCP account using the same Google Workspace account to resolve the GeminiCLI quota issue.

Guidance

  • Verify that the GCP account creation is the root cause by checking if other users in the organization are experiencing similar issues with GeminiCLI.
  • Investigate if there are any specific permissions or settings in the GCP account that might be interfering with the GeminiCLI quota.
  • Try removing any associations between the GCP account and the GeminiCLI to see if it resolves the issue.
  • Check the GeminiCLI documentation to see if there are any known issues or limitations related to using Google Workspace accounts with GCP accounts.

Notes

The issue seems to be related to the creation of a GCP account using the same Google Workspace account, but the exact cause is unclear. Further investigation is needed to determine the root cause and find a permanent solution.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Revert the recent change of creating a GCP account using the same Google Workspace account, as it seems to be the most likely cause of the issue. This will help to isolate the problem and potentially resolve the quota issue with GeminiCLI.
