What variant of Codex are you using?

Codex VS Code extension version: 26.519.32039

What feature would you like to see?

Hi Codex team,

I’d like to request image input support in the VS Code Codex extension.

Currently, it seems the VS Code extension does not reliably support directly pasting images into the chat input. For screenshot-based workflows, users have to save the image as a file first, move it into the workspace or provide a local path, and then ask Codex to inspect it. This interrupts the development flow.

It would be very helpful if the VS Code Codex chat supported:

Pasting screenshots directly into the chat box Dragging and dropping images into the chat Uploading images through an attachment button Common use cases:

Debugging from error screenshots Reviewing UI layout and styling issues Comparing implementation screenshots with design references Sharing local app screenshots for frontend feedback Asking Codex to inspect visual bugs that are hard to describe in text The Codex desktop app and ChatGPT already make image-based workflows feel much smoother, so having similar support in the VS Code extension would be a big quality-of-life improvement.

Thanks!
