Bug Description

When pressing keyboard shortcuts (e.g., Ctrl+Shift+T for new tab) in terminal emulators like WezTerm or Windows Terminal, terminal escape sequences appear as input text in Claude Code.

Example

The sequence 1;22;23;24;28;32;42;52c appears in the input field when pressing Ctrl+Shift+T.

This is a DA (Device Attributes) response from the terminal, which Claude Code should filter out.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Code in WezTerm or Windows Terminal
  2. Press Ctrl+Shift+T (or other keyboard shortcuts)
  3. Observe escape sequences appearing as input text

Expected Behavior

Terminal escape sequences should be filtered out and not appear as user input.

Environment

  • Claude Code version: 2.1.145
  • Terminal: WezTerm / Windows Terminal
  • OS: Windows 11 + WSL2
