What happened?

Gemini CLI is throwing an 403 on my query. <img width="594" height="262" alt="Image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/b2933198-9895-4c75-aae9-a0cb91f810a5" /> <img width="751" height="212" alt="Image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/7c772e72-f973-4d43-b02c-e9f67d55fdbc" />

What did you expect to happen?

Gemini CLI should process query rather than that it fails at earlier with 403 "The caller does not have permission". I spent money to do agentic coding with Gemini CLI and Antigravity but both are not working. Seriously very disappointed.

Login information

I am a Google AI Pro user, so login via Google sign in.

Anything else we need to know?

Gemini CLI is not event working for me since day one. I have tried to connect Gemini CLI with docker sbx sandbox once like last week, even that failed.

extent analysis

TL;DR

The 403 error in Gemini CLI may be due to permission issues related to the user's Google AI Pro account or the CLI's configuration.

Guidance

  • Verify the Google AI Pro account permissions and ensure that the account has the necessary access rights to use the Gemini CLI.
  • Check the Gemini CLI configuration to ensure that it is properly set up to use the Google AI Pro account credentials.
  • Try running the /about command in the Gemini CLI to gather more information about the client and its configuration.
  • Review the documentation for Gemini CLI and Google AI Pro to ensure that all necessary steps have been taken to set up and use the CLI correctly.

Notes

The issue may be related to the user's account or configuration, but without more information, it is difficult to provide a more specific solution.

Recommendation

Apply workaround: Try re-authenticating with Google AI Pro or re-configuring the Gemini CLI to use a different authentication method, as the current setup may be causing the permission issue.
